Bill Mooney
was the general contractor we used to expand our child care center
in 1991-92. This project was a custom designed single purpose facility.
The expansion phase was 15,000 square feet, a million dollar project
at the time. Specialized dance and gymnastics areas were included,
and a new playground was built. Bill spent countless hours working
with us in the design phase and in selecting materials. He was regularly
available to supervise construction, and we were plased with the
outcome. He stayed within the cost estimates, and the final cost
of the project was less than expected. I strongly doubt that another
contractor would have had the tenacity to perform as well.
In 1997-98 Bill
worked with us on design of a strip shopping area. We chose not
to proceed with that project until the road was four-laned. This
will occur in about two years, and I hope Bill will work with us
then on development.
In 1997 and
1998 Bill Mooney provided the basic engineering and design services
which led to all work necessary to begin construction of the Child's
World of Learning Facility in Heathrow. Unfortunately for that project,
we chose to reaquire at a foreclosure sale our previously owned
center here in Orange City. This facility is 27,000 square feet,
and of necessity required all of our energies at start-up.
Bill and Paul
are totally familiar with the Heathrow project, having discussed
and advised us in each detail. Bill's previous construction experience
with a single use child care facility was helpful in this respect.
A highly profitable child care center can only be operated in a
custom designed "machine" dedicated to the provision of
quality care of children. Efficiency is first designed by the facility.
Historically our Orange City operation has been very profitable,
and I credit much of this result to facility design.
It should be
said that Bill and Paul are first in customer service. Bill has
shown me that he is not above spending any amount of time necessary
to achieve an objective. His knowledge of the industry and subcontractors
is remarkable. He is aquainted with the best sources in Seminole
and Volusia Counties, a skill that will assist in keeping costs
and schedules under control. He is a person of great integrity and
a harder working individual you will not meet.
Bill and Paul
have my unqualified support as proposed general contractors for
the Heathrow child care center. I will make myself available to
